Riley F. Nakatsu, O.D.

Dr. Nakatsu has been in private practice since 1983. He earned a Bachelor of Science, with honors, from the University of Washington in 1979 and then continued on to Pacific University College of Optometry, where he graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983. He joined Broadway Vision Clinic in the fall of 1983. In addition to private practice, Dr. Nakatsu also served as a contract optometrist for the United States Coast Guard from 1986-1999, providing eyecare to active duty and retired military personnel, as well as their dependents.

His practice philosophy is to take the time to get to know each patient and understand their visual needs and concerns. A thorough examination then leads to a discussion of the best options for eyewear or eye health care, so that the patient can make an informed decision of what's best for their situation.

Dr. Nakatsu is a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity. He is an avid golfer, enjoys yard work, and is a sports enthusiast. His greatest joy has been watching his 2 daughters grow up!

Warren Ruby, L.D.O.

Warren Ruby, L.D.O.

Known as the "Wizard of Eyes" on Capitol Hill, Warren has been practicing the art of choosing the right eyewear for people for over 30 years. Originally trained in a small business in Seattle, he gradually developed a loyal clientele spanning not only the Pacific Northwest, but across the country. His experience includes corporate wholesale work with Cartier USA, training other opticians in the luxury eyewear market. He also owned Main Street Optical in Edmonds, WA, which eventually rated in the top 5 optical shops in Washington at the time.

"My true desire is to help people look and see their best! In my experience, it takes another person with an objective eye to compliment the individual face with eyeglasses. Educating your customers as to the particular styles which suits them best is exciting and challenging to me."

His avocations are family dinners, fly fishing, and singing classical music with many of Seattle's musical organizations.

"My best compliment on my work comes when another person sees my clients in their new eyeglasses and says: 'Where did you get those? They fit perfectly!'"
